The Environmental Commission meets the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30PM in the Town Hall.

The Town of Elbridge Commission on the Environment is a municipal body formed nearly 50 years ago with the environmental movement in the 1970’s. At that time, most of the townships in NYS formed a Commission to work with the Town and Planning Boards to help guide projects and decisions that affect our Environment. The commission works as an advisory body to aid in the protection and sustainability of our important natural environments now and into the future.
Along with our advisory role, the board also acts proactively. Projects that we are currently involved with include a yearly tree giveaway, a demonstration native garden, and bluebird restoration.
We invite new members who would like to help contribute to this important work.
Any questions about becoming a member please contact Tracy Resch at: tracykerr77@gmail.com.
We also ask for any ideas you would like us to address.
On April 25, 2026 the Town of Elbridge Environmental Commission had their annual tree sapling giveaway, the fifth year in a row! The Commission gave away 160 trees and since its beginning has given away over 900 tree saplings.
The Commission is always interested in feedback from Town residents. We also welcome anyone interested in joining us! We meet on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Town of Elbridge Town Hall. All meetings are open to the public.

Long-time members Steve Schwab and Dave Johnson sort trees on April 25.

Saplings are small but many can grow up fairly quickly. This is a basswood from 2024.

This silky dogwood is from 2025. In 2027 the Environmental Commission plans to purchase 200 tree saplings to give away.
